Getting around

We recommend having your own cars at the chateau, but if you don’t want to drive, here are some transport alternatives.

Taxis

The local taxi firm is Taxi Hallinois, run by Raymond Guitton. His number is 00‑33‑6‑40‑98‑59‑79.

In nearby Longuenesse, Paul Lemas runs Lemastaxis. He can be reached on 00‑33‑6‑07‑30‑76‑10 or email paul.lemas@laposte.net

Alternatively, there is always Manu with his minibus — please see the section below.

Minibus hire

This is Manu, who with his wife has recently taken over the café and shop in Hallines. He hires out his 9-seater minibus with or without himself as driver.

It can cost from as little as €70 for a day (self-drive), delivered to the chateau. His phone number is 00-33-6-16-18-01-00 or his wife is on 00-33-6-50-06-38-64. Their business is Au P’tit Bonheur, 83 Rue Bernard Chochoy, 62570 Hallines.

Local bus to Saint Omer

Only 500 metres from the house there is a bus stop with a regular service to Saint Omer. Below is the link to the website with the timetable. Click on ‘Lignes et horaires’. You want bus route 5 (Ligne 5), from bus stop ‘Green’. Yes, that’s the name of the stop! You reach the bus stop by walking up to the crossroads and turning right towards Wizernes. It’s outside the village school on the right hand side.

Please visit the Mouvéo website for the timetable.

Bikes

There are bikes at the chateau for local sightseeing. For these and other facilities, please take a look at our activities page.
